GTI is pleased to announce the opening of its new terminal for Southern California operations. The brand new facility will house a complete operations team and a full maintenance shop. The person we are seeking will specifically manage the maintenance shop; working closely with operations. This is a great opportunity to jump into a management position for a well-established company.
Some of the duties associated with this job are:
Facility: Serve as a member of the local leadership team; monitoring safety, risk compliance, regulatory compliance (local, state and federal), maintenance, organization and project management.
Safety: Manage the overall safety performance of the maintenance facility. Work towards and lead safety initiatives and training. Assist in coaching, developing and training where needed.
Service: Create and maintain a service-oriented culture in the Maintenance Department.
Cost Control: Manage terminal maintenance performance on key cost factors including safety, performance, staffing, asset usage, preventative maintenance, asset utilization.
Goal-Setting: Set goals for the Maintenance Team Leaders (MTL) and maintenance employees in alignment with company objectives.
Productivity: Monitor, manage and continually improve maintenance facility productivity.
Process Management: Act as the process owner for operations process, as well as act as front line champion for continuous improvement efforts.
Policy Management: Adhere to existing company policies and procedures.
Growth of Employees: Create and implement training programs for mechanics and other maintenance employees. Team
Assessment, Select, Coach and Develop maintenance personnel.
Cross-Departmental: Support the Operations Department where needed.
Driver Morale: Organize and manage local events for drivers and employees.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the following attributes in previous roles:
Leadership, initiative, problem analysis, planning, organization and sound judgment
Experience in the transportation industry is ideal. A degree from an accredited university or college is preferred but not required. Candidates should have a genuine interest in logistics, transportation management and have a service-oriented attitude.

Compensation for this position will depend on the candidate’s education and experience, with promotions based upon performance and not tenure. |
