GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for retrieving data from various sources including an AS400 system from our Indianopolis Terminal. Duties include; organization and analyzing data into a format so that decisions can be derived. This position works closely with Sales, Operations, Accounting, Driver Recruiting and the GTI Management Team.
JOB SUMMARY:
* Internal Administrative Support:
- Profile/Database/Solicitation guide management
- Spot pricing, rate reviews, rate page generation
- Contract, accessorial, and fuel surcharge administration
- Credit and accounts receivable assistance
- Bid tracking and preparation
- Customer specific reports
- Presentation preparation
*Customer Relations and Development:
- Collect and complete start-up profiles
- Manage start-up procedure
- Act as a bridge between Sales, Customer Service and Operations to promote more seamless start-up situations
- Dedicated opportunity mining
- Specialized equipment utilization opportunities
* Network Management:
- Help develop, track, and manage internal operating plans for specific geographic regions
- Conduct yield analysis and area improvement initiatives
- Conduct market analysis, lead development, and lead qualification
* Competitive Analysis:
- Managing the competitive carrier database
- Pricing activity by carrier
- Lane activity by shipper
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education: College degree preferred
2. Certifications: Bachelors Degree in Business or AA + significant experience preferred
3. Experience: Operations, Customer Service, Sales, or Marketing
4. Skills: Intermediate to expert level Microsoft Excel skills, Power Point and Word, Lotus Notes Email, and Cognos Business Intelligence. Must be very organized, able to handle multiple tasks at a time, work independently and in group settings. Possess good communication skills written and verbally. Ability to gather data, put it into a usable format, analyze and make recommendations.
JOB CONDITIONS:
1. Physical Demands: Requires continuous sitting viewing monitor, and keyboarding.
2. Environmental Demands: Office environment with large amounts of interaction with customers and co-workers. Moderate background noise. |
