Qualified technicians must be energetic, professional, and safety minded at all times. Gordon has an excellent career path available for technicians. As a mechanic's skill level increases, so will the challenges and opportunities available. Some duties include:  inspection of trailer and tractor units, extensive repairs in all phases of trailer maintenance including body, frame, suspension, electrical, and air systems as directed by the trailer mechanic foreman. Repairs may include welding, riveting, and painting. Performing trailer repairs requires the Technician to keep the equipment operating safely and the freight in good condition during transit. Operating a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed, preventative maintenance on both tractor and trailers, diagonse basic electrial issues, operations of a fork lift and yard hostler, conducting Federal Inspections on tractors and trailers, some computer use for coding purposes will be neccessary.  The Compensation/Benefits: Gordon Trucking, Inc. provides an outstanding compensation/benefits package for their employees including medical, dental, and vision coverage, an incentive compensation plan, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with Company match.
